In designing the 2023 Southern Living Idea House, our aim was to create a home that felt deeply rooted—imbued with the character of a place long established in its setting. Drawing on the language of classic Southern vernacular, we envisioned a modern country estate. In honoring the tradition of outbuildings, we introduced a Party Barn and Garden Folly, shaping a courtyard-like composition that is both graciously inviting and ideally suited for entertaining.
