LUKE SIPPEL

OWNER | PRINCIPAL DESIGNER

Luke studied Architectural/Engineering Technology at The University of Southern Mississippi, graduating with honors in 2011. He began as a residential designer in rural Mississippi before co-founding Lake + Land Studio in 2015, helping define its residential design focus.

Now Principal Designer at Maker Design Studios, Luke leads design initiatives and elevates the firm’s residential portfolio.

He and his wife, Julia, have two daughters, Bailey and Kennedy, and a dog, Charlie. Outside the studio, Luke enjoys golf, family time, and being active in his local church.

MATT JORDAN

PARTNER | PRINCIPAL DESIGNER

Matt is a McComb, Mississippi native whose interest in architecture and craftsmanship began while working in a cabinet shop during high school. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture, with honors, from Mississippi State University in 2013.

After beginning his career in Jackson on commercial and industrial projects, Matt joined Lake + Land Studio in 2016. He is now a Partner at Maker Design Studio, where he focuses on design excellence, project leadership, and client relationships.

Matt lives in Sumrall, MS, with his wife, Kelly, and their son, Jett. Outside the studio, he enjoys the outdoors, drawing, and serving in his church community.

BRANDEN RICHARDS

DESIGNER

Branden is a Mandeville, Louisiana native who moved to Hattiesburg in 2021 to attend the University of Southern Mississippi. In 2025, he graduated with honors, earning degrees in Architectural Engineering Technology and Construction Management. After two years with Lake + Land Studio, Branden is now part of Maker Design Studios as a Designer and BIM Manager. In his role, he helps advance the studio’s design process by updating and innovating its technological and BIM standards.

Outside the studio, Branden enjoys staying active in the Hattiesburg community by coaching high school lacrosse.

Emily Luke, a South Mississippi native, graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering. Driven by a passion for creativity and problem-solving, architecture was the perfect path for her. Emily’s goal is to turn others' visions into reality through design that reflects their ideas and enhances them beyond what they originally imagined.

Inspired by the beauty of everyday life and nature, she loves to slow down, take a walk, enjoy a meal, and thank God for the tiniest joys that this life has to offer.

EMILY LUKE

Mattie DeLoach is the interior designer at Maker Design Studio, where she brings creativity, thoughtfulness, and a strong passion for interiors to every project. She helps bring a cohesive vision to projects from architecture through interior design.

Mattie graduated at the top of her class from the Interior Design program at the University of Southern Mississippi. Her work reflects a love for beautifully layered spaces, inspired material selections, and meaningful collaboration with clients and the design team.

Outside the studio, Mattie lives with her husband, Heath DeLoach, and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Oliver.

STUDIO MANAGER

Jeni plays an essential role in keeping the studio organized, connected, and moving forward. From managing emails and calls to coordinating communication, project details, and payments, she helps create the structure that allows the team to stay focused and collaborative. Her steady presence and attention to detail make her an integral part of the foundation of Maker’s day-to-day operations.

Jeni lives in Sumrall, MS, with her husband, Matt, their two sons, Fisher and Carson, and their dog, Cypress.

Outside the studio, she enjoys being active in her gym, church, and community, and loves cheering on her sons at their soccer games.
